Technical Specifications for Digital Art

The VOmax Art Department can accept files created in vector-based software (such as Illustrator or Freehand) as well as Photoshop. Vector files may be saved in native format, .eps, or .pdf.

All fonts must be converted to outline paths. The minimum type size is 6 point, and the minimum line width is 2 point. Photoshop and other pixel-based logos should be 400 dpi or better at final print size.

Web images such as .jpg, .gif, or other low resolution bitmap type files are not suitable for printing. Traditional camera ready art is still welcome. Even if all you have is a business card, send it along so we can scan it here. Additional art time may be required to recreate or clean up images like these, but the end result is more predictable if we can work from the original.

If you plan to supply us with digital art, please download the appropriate pattern templates. If you have questions about art preparation, feel free to contact artdept@vomax.com with your job name or organization in the subject line of the e-mail.
